The weekend started out with gray skies, rain, cold and
windy, but ended up with a nice fall day with sun, blue skies and white puffy
clouds. We had on our agenda to go whale
watching and also take the ferry out to Nantucket, but the ocean did not cooperate.
The ocean was too rough and all the
boats cancelled their tours.
On Saturday we decided to just go for drive. We ended up visiting some of the towns along
the Cape Cod seashore. Towns such as
Falmouth, Mashpee, Osterville, Hyannis, Yarmouth, Barnstable and Sandwich. We
did some shopping and sightseeing. The
JFK Hyannis Museum focuses on John F. Kennedy’s time spent in the town. There
is also a memorial to President Kennedy that was erected in 1966.
On Sunday we
toured the Old Sturbridge Village. The
Village depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. They had authentically
costumed staff and more than 40 original buildings, including homes,
meetinghouses, a school, country store, bank, working farm, three water-powered
mills, and trade shops. We had an
enjoyable day strolling through the village.
Tomorrow we head
to Maine.

I told mom i cant wait for my new england calendar for next year! Look like some of these might make the cut. So beautiful!!
